not listening to the lies of the devil

I have lived much of my life listening and believing the lies of the devil. These are lies that sound plausible and indeed have some truth. Maybe even much truth. But they end with the lie that there is no hope. That there is no salvation. That it’s all about me. When in reality it’s all about Jesus. And it’s about God’s love in Jesus in creating the world, including us. And about his concern in love for each of us expressed in the sending of his Son. That the salvation he brings is full and complete, beginning in this life.

We need to go back to the psalms and meditate and pray through them. And we need to see the position that is ours through faith in Jesus. That there is indeed no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. That if God is for us, who can be against us. That whoever might accuse us, God is present and we are forgiven in and through Jesus.

I am short on time this morning, and likely will replace this with another post later. But these thoughts were on my mind.
