a reset

Great peace have those who love your law,
and nothing can make them stumble.

Psalm 119:165

We live in a topsy turvy time when just about anything that could happen, happens. People are bitterly divided, even including Christians. It is a most difficult time.

Maybe this is cause for a reset. The issues at stake won’t go away, nor the great divide. It is here to stay for now anyhow. What are we to do?

I think the greatest thing we who would be followers of Christ need to do is to double our commitment to follow Christ, whatever that means at this time. What shape that takes in our faith communities and in our individual lives is ultimately up to the Lord to decide.

Our commitment should simply be to follow. Our love for God’s law is fulfilled in our love for Jesus. And if we love Jesus, we will seek to follow him (John 21:22).
