A person’s steps are directed by the Lord.
How then can anyone understand their own way?
Sometimes I’m at a loss to understand what’s going on, even decisions I make along the way. I’ve certainly made my share of mistakes over the years, and more. What is interesting in this proverb is how God’s hand is supposedly draped all over us, our lives, what we do.
In that I do find hope. So what I like to do is try to find the good in anything which in itself is either difficult to accept or understand. That may seem like self-effort and manipulation in trying to bring about a good outcome. But that could well be God’s hand at work to bring about needed change in our lives.
So yes, I can’t understand my way. But I trust God’s hand is in it, directing my steps. In and through Jesus.
